My father went to the woman, to the mother, to Hansl's parents; he wanted to take Hansl along with him to Bozen, and asked them for permission. I don't remember exactly if Hansl's mother had given her permission before my father went to see her. She told my father she was worried because the train tracks leading to Vintschgau pass close to their farm. She had seen a white lady (phantom) walking on the tracks at night. So she was worried about her Hansl and didn't want him to go along. Then my father talked her out of it, and told her he'd take good care of him. And then, see, it just happened. Hansl did come home safe and sound. Yes, that is another part of the story. This is what my mother always told me.
